If you're riding single track, you really want to be at the top of that range - trail riding abuses a bike quickly, and its totally worth getting in on the more expensive bikes - not just because of capability, but because of durability. But you're already riding and enjoy it, and you'll enjoy it more with a bike that you can hang on to for a long time.I will say though that if you're already putting an entry level bike through the paces and finding its not keeping up with you, you're probably better off buying used or shopping for deals on a slightly higher end bike that you can grow into a little more than the Marlin or Trail series.
